Program Description
Led by Rachel Beaujean, Director of the Hans van Manen Foundation and one of Hans van Manen’s principal muses, this exclusive three-day intensive offers dancers a unique opportunity to explore original choreographic material from Frank Bridge Variations, one of Van Manen’s celebrated works for Dutch National Ballet.
Throughout the programme, participants will immerse themselves in Van Manen’s distinctive choreographic language, exploring the exceptional musicality, precision, contrasts and human relationships that define his work.
Drawing on her decades-long artistic collaboration with Hans van Manen and her extensive experience staging and safeguarding his repertoire internationally, Rachel Beaujean will guide dancers through the movement language and artistic details of Frank Bridge Variations.

Set to Benjamin Britten’s Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge, the ballet moves between sharp and flowing, precise and free, passionate and melancholic movement, bringing contrasting qualities together into a remarkable choreographic whole.
Created for dancers seeking a deeper artistic and repertory experience, this intensive offers rare direct access to the legacy of one of the most influential masters of twentieth- and twenty-first-century ballet.
